A Message From the Fire Chief

The Templeton Fire Department has been providing emergency services to the community of Templeton for over 90 years. We pride ourselves in that this service is, for the most part, delivered through the volunteer efforts of your neighbors who continue to give unselfishly of their time, to be ready when their services are called upon. The men and women who make up the Templeton Fire Department are committed in providing their talents and efforts to mitigate any emergency service for which they have been called. If you have a friend and/or neighbor who is a member of this proud and dedicated corps, take a moment and thank them for their continued efforts.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

You've Gotta Have Faith

Faith Estrada, Volunteer Firefighter spotlight

Faith Estrada became a member of the Templeton Fire Department in April 2004, having completed the required minimum training, which exceeds 200 hours of intense training to be considered for the position.

Faith was born and raised in Templeton and has attended Templeton Schools graduating from THS in 1989. Faith is married to Richard Estrada and together they have 3 daughters Marie, Rachael, and Heidi (all attending Templeton schools). Faith is employed by Atascadero State Hospital and also serves as a volunteer on their fire department.

Faith’s grandfather Bob Loy, was a member of the fire department in the 50’s. Longtime residents may remember Bob, as he operated Loy’s Market in Templeton.

When not fighting fires, Faith enjoys her involvement in her daughter’s sports, especially softball. You might also see Faith and family boating and camping along the County’s local lakes.

Since its establishment in 1909, Templeton Fire Department has relied on the generous spirit of its community volunteers. As our community grows so do the number of emergency calls. In 1991 the firefighters responded to a total of 140 calls. Last year there were 493 calls for service.

Our firefighters volunteer their time and energy to respond and mitigate each one of these emergencies. Our firefighters are required to attend over 200 hours of training before becoming a firefighter and attend training courses twice each month to maintain their skills. If you have a neighbor who is a fire-fighter or if you meet one, give them a pat on the back and thank them for giving their time to make our community a safe place to live!

Since its establishment in 1909 the Templeton Fire Department has relied on community volunteers to protect lives and property. Members include: Fire Chief Greg O’Sullivan; Assistant Fire Chief Rod Hewitt; Captains Mike Erb, Kurt Pennington, Tom Peterson; Engineers Dave Tice, Tony Cappelluti, Tony Futch, Steve Barckley, Johnathan Gibson; Fire Fighters Kyle Coffman, Joe Franzone, Faith Estrada, Joseph Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Brandlyn Cox, Troy Lovell, Marcus Smith, Scott Reynolds, Jay Short, Frank Sprague, Tom Stead, and Jolene Ybarra.
