  2290 Homestead.
  The entrance is on left hand side of the road

Purpose

On March 6, 2001, the Board of Directors of the District adopted Ordinance 2001-1 establishing a department of solid waste collection and with it rules and regulations that will provide for the storage, collection and disposal of refuse and waste materials that accumulate within the District.

This budget unit will fund programs to promote refuse collection and disposal activities throughout the community.

Programs

The General Manager is charged with enforcing the rules and regulations as they relate to refuse collection, disposal and related activities of the District. Programs, including community clean-ups, special recycling events and efforts to enhance both existing and proposed collection services are administrated by this activity. This program also ensures that the community complies with the state and county 939 requirements and will ultimately oversee its own franchise agreement.

Funding

Funding for solid waste collection and disposal activities comes primarily from franchise fees charged to the hauler for the right of exclusive collection within the Templeton community.
