Every year on September 11, Templeton Fire & Emergency Services holds a memorial stairclimb for the 343 FDNY firefighters, 37 PAPD Officers, 23 NYPD Officers, 8 EMTs and Paramedics, 1 NYFP Patrolman, and the near 3,000 citizens who all tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Members from our department and firefighters from surrounding agencies come together at the Templeton High School Football Stadium to climb 110 flights of stairs in full structural firefighting gear. Templeton High School and Middle School students also join first responders during the climb and learn about why we shall never forget.
